The Invitation

A friend emailed me this today. He first shared it with me 5 years ago and thought it as good a time as any to share it with me again. Powerful stuff this. Some of the most "real" words ever written – this is what living in the raw is really about. The Invitationby Oriah Mountain Dreamer It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive. It doesn’t interest … Continue reading

OK! Magazine

We’re in this week’s OK! magazine! OK’s Hot Stars supplement features 3 pages on raw foods, "Hollywood’s Hottest New Diet" and features Uma Thurman, Demi Moore, Alicia Silverstone and Natalie Portman as stars who have followed a raw food diet (or still do) and citing The Fresh Network and my first book Feel-Good Food as THE useful resources for UK raw food fans.                                                                                               The 3rd page – depicting 8 top tips for going raw, was actually mostly written by me many weeks ago for another publication, Star magazine, … Continue reading

Raw Food for Beginners Weekend, 26-27 November 2005

As some of you know, I have just launched my new 1 and 2 day classes based on my forthcoming book, Raw Food for Beginners. The book itself is nearly finished and I am expecting it to be available from spring 2006. I’m already incredibly proud of it (there’s nothing like it on the market) and can’t wait to finally be able to mail it out to people! (I’ll post more about the book at a later date as it more than warrants its own entry). In the meantime, I am bringing the 7 key teachings of the book out into the public and making them "real" via live teachings in my own home, near Ely, Cambridgeshire. All classes are … Continue reading

The Goddess Oracle

In case you hadn’t already guessed it, I’m rather into all things magical, metaphysical and spooky coincidence type stuff. On an almost daily basis I pull a Goddess Card from my Goddess Oracle pack, which, I have to say is always so spot on I rarely bother with any other kind of card (- apart from the gorgeous Cheryl Richardson Self Care Cards which are works of art in their own right, and which I often send to clients.) Tonight, seeing as I’ve been blogging away for hours, and it is now past the midnight hour, I thought it would be interesting to see what card I drew while in this new, outreaching frame of mind. Spooky is not the … Continue reading

Holistic Parenting Expo, Somerset

I’m off to Somerset this weekend, to the rather lovely Rookery Manor which is housing the UK’s first ever Holistic Parenting Expo organised by my good friend Veronika Robinson of The Mother magazine. It’s a 2 day event, happening just 3 weeks before our own Fresh Festival at the very same venue, so October is a very busy month to say the least! I’ll be demoing, speaking, signing and selling, and it’s also a wonderful opportunity for me to meet new people, and have something akin to a weekend away, even though I’ll be on duty for most of it. It’s going to be a wonderful weekend, and one long overdue for the more conscious sector of the UK parenting … Continue reading

Chocolate Mmmmilk

Not a lot of people know it, but cacao is true chocolate. Cacao is the fruit of the cacao tree, growing in pods and eventually finding its way into wrappers and supermakets – after being heavily processed and mixed with the rather less healthy full-fat milk, cream and/or refined white sugar of course. Raw cacao on the other hand is as pure as it gets. I’ve been experimenting with this "Food of the Gods" for months now, using ground cacao nibs to make the most yummy dark and milk chocolate drinks and ice-creams using the cacao itself, as well as other pure organic raw ingredients such as cashew butter, almonds, vanilla essence, carob powder and the like. The result is … Continue reading

Blogs away!

Welcome! My first blog and what a defining moment! For months I have been thinking about blogs, reading about blogs, reading other people’s blogs, basically blogging all around blogdom, but now it’s a just do it moment and it’s an exciting one at that. This blog no doubt will be a mixture of all sorts – tips, sharings, musings, updates, mostly professional content so you can scoop some cool stuff that will help you in one way or t’other, but the occasional personal piece to remind both of us of my human-ness! If the truth be told, it’s really what I personally most love about other people’s blogs… It’s my hope that you will gain much by dropping by once … Continue reading
